Citrus Chic

Jordyn and Mark tied the knot in a beautiful, fun backyard ceremony in Bend, Oregon. The weather was unpredictable with moments of sun and downpour, but the clouds parted for their ceremony. The florals were inspired by a Wes Anderson color palette with a fun twist; citrus! Grapefruit, oranges, and lemons were added for texture and a unique play on the colors.

Mismatched and Magnificent

Jordyn is a thrift shopping QUEEN. She spent months leading up to the wedding procuring a mixture of vintage vases and elements to help the 70s feel shine through. Using a variety of mismatched vases was a fun design choice that added to the whimsical feel.

Lord of the Rings

Jordyn wanted a subtle nod to Lord of the Rings (because it was the inspiration behind Mark’s wedding ring). We accomplished this through the language of flowers. One of the central themes of the Lord of the Rings series is “loyalty” – also a wonderful wedding message. The honeysuckle means “I am devoted to you,” alstroemeria means “powerful bond,” and freesia symbolizes loyalty throughout the seasons of life. The ferns were also a nod to the overall vibe of Lord of the Rings.

Personal Accents and Citrus

Mark, a talented welder and fabricator, built a backdrop of colorful panels to stand behind them as they said their vows. He also made two curved metal stands for the floral pillars. Curly Willow helped continue the curving shape, while eucalyptus and ferns grounded everything. We utilized a mixture of bright orange, yellow, pink, and white florals accented with our citrus fruits and the bees were happy!

Jordyn’s bouquet was a fun mix of tree peonies, tulips, calendula, and ferns, with craspedia or “billy balls” for a pop of color. The billy balls also symbolize this couple’s beautiful sentiment. When asked to describe their relationship in three words, they both said “my best friend”. Billy balls mean “you light up my life” – and it’s easy to see looking at these two that it is true!

Overall, the wedding was a beautiful representation of Jordyn and Mark’s personalities and their love for each other. Jordyn’s thrift store prowess and Mark’s handmade touches made everything even more special. The unpredictable weather only added to the magic of the day.
